About the City of Chaska

Chaska is located in the Minnesota River valley, southeast of Minneapolis.  Until 1950 the average population was 2,000.  In the late 50′s the transition to a metropolitan community began and the 2010 census showed a population over 23,000.

Many industries reside in Chaska, and 100-300 new homes are built annually.  Some of the compaines include Among them are TPI Specialties, Update Ltd, Wigen Water Technologies, Beckman Coulter and Hartman Homes.

Parks & Recreation

Over 200 recreational programs are offered through the Parks and Rec Department. These are offered to people from pre-school age to senior citizens.  The Chaska Community Center, Clayhole swimming beach, park shelters and ballfield are available through the Parks and Rec Department.

Chaska’s Parks and Recreation Department has been a leader in Carver County by starting many youth athletic programs.  Chaska is also recognized for its staffing and operations of the city cable network and communication needs.
